Behavior Concerns

Human behavior flows from three main sources: desire, emotion, and knowledge.

Every child will experience emotional difficulties at times.  A range of feelings, emotions, and conflicts between the child and parent are a normal part of child growth and development.  Problems can be common in times of change for a family: changing parental roles, the death of a family member, or a change in location.  Many families often find the need for guidance and support when it comes to behavior problems at home.  The resources listed below are intended to connect families with resources and support. The list will give you a head start and lead you to more information and resources to help you find a plan that will work for your family.

Stages of Development

This guide will help you determine if your child is hitting the important milestones in growth and development.

Pyscho-social behaviors and mental health issues often cause children and adolescents much difficulty in functioning in social situations.  Mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, and substance related disorders can result in negative behaviors in children.

Many children exhibit behavior habits that can be detrimental to their overall health, dangerous, or just downright annoying.  Many of these habits can be easily remedied at home with the proper supports and intervention

Disruptive Behaviors

Disruptive behaviors are easily diagnosed because they involve behaviors that are readily seen, such as temper tantrums, physical or verbal aggression, argumentativeness, stealing, and other forms of defiance or resistance to authority.
